VISION
Meeting sustainability
goals while improving
safety and efficiency
Our goal is to develop comprehensive therm savings solutions for high pressure steam users. Safety and efficiency is key to achieving sustainability goals while tackling the challenge of rising natural gas prices.

STEAM
TRAP TESTING
Steam traps separate the steam system from the condensate system and vent non-condensable gases. Steam traps are either mechanical, thermostatic, or thermos-dynamic. When a steam trap fails in the open position, the energy that was added at the boiler to convert it from a liquid to a gas then becomes lost in the condensate return system. When steam traps fail in the closed position, the condensate is not returned and backs up in the steam system. This can create a dangerous situation due to the water hammer and buildup of carbonic acid that will attack the pipping and fittings. It is critical that facilities with high pressure steam test their traps on a routine basis so that the failed traps can be identified for repair or replacement.

THERMAL
BLANKET AUDITS
To achieve energy conservation, thermal efficiency and safety for high-pressure steam, using removable insulation for high temperature surfaces on uninsulated valves and fittings produces significant therm savings. We work with Shannon Global to provide thermal blanket audits to calculate the potential energy savings for your facility.
ENGINEERED
THERMAL SAVINGS PROJECT
Our engineered thermal savings projects work towards creating a much more energy efficient steam distribution system.
Examples include:
-
Replacing old boilers with new high-efficient boilers.
-
Adding Boiler Economizers
-
Capturing and repurposing flash steam that was being vented and wasted to the atmosphere.
-
Evaluating Cogen options for Steam Systems.
-
Zero Flash Steam Heat Exchanger

WHY US
FIELD EXPERIENCE AND POTENTIAL REBATES
My experience in the steam energy conservation field started when I began working as a steam trap testing technician right after college. That experience enabled me to qualify for a job as an energy advisor for an energy efficiency program with a large natural gas utility in the Chicagoland area. While in that role, I gained a tremendous amount of experience developing technical engineered steam solutions for a wide variety of facilities.
